I shot these on a more cloudy day-But one can see-the light is a bit harsh in spots still-----Have no diffuser for my flash.....Looks like I may need one to accomplish this though-Your thoughts?

You can try turning down the flash a little or you can try and make your own diffuser. Some just tape a piece of tissue paper on their flash. Here's a good site to get ideas from http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/04/gear-articles-and-reviews.html.
