New freddy pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks nice, I would love to have a freddy one day!

Great looking fish and pix! That flash makes a world of difference doesn't it lol.

The only thing I would try to do is get the entire fish in the shots. I know that's tough sometimes but it's more rewarding (unless you're focusing on a particular part of the fish of course).

Start with low ISO, high Fstop, and as fast as a shutter as possible. If the shutter speed is too slow with the amount of flash that you have always decrease the aperture (fstop) before increasing ISO.

Makes all the difference in the world man-
Can't believe how easy it is also....Thought it would be complicated-Hence why it has taken so long for to go this route---Damn I should have done it sooner...Especially when I still had all my nice fish...Now I only have minimal fish to work with....

I believe the pics were taken along these lines Rally-
ISO-100
F11 and up-Need to try higher obviously.
1/250 or abouts....
430ex

Wish I had the 580-
But have also found out-I need at least two flashes for me to be happy now....Shooting that 500 gal is a pain without 2...

I'm gonna play around alot more with the settings...But very pleased with the results for my first try's.....

Appreciate the kind words Rally

You can get slave flashes for little money from almost anywhere. They'll be triggered by the light of your main flash and will have to be set manually, but it's an inexpensive way to fill the lighting gap.

I know your a Nikon guy-
But I do have the wireless transmitter to fire the slaves--I'm useing my 430ex as a slave...

How cheap you talkin Rally-And what kind?Guess I need to look a bit more now..LOL
I'm not sure if I should be looking for something else other than another 430-I honestly dont see a reason to step up to a 580 yet...Or to even have a mixed match flash setup-

these slave flashes are less than $40 and screw into a normal 110v light socket.

something like this:

They can be screwed into a shop light housing if you wanted to go that way.
