Hey all just bought 4 fronts for my tank. Eventually i want to attempt to breed them in the future when they are mature but i want to know if i should get more or just raise these 4 together. Im leaning on getting more just got these 4 cuz it was a good deal ( at least cheaper than ive seen them) so lmk. Also what is the best food to feed them to bring out color and fast growth? What is their growth rate? Any info is helpful.

Might need some breed type and 4 will not due likely to you probably dont know the sex ratio on them yet and size of tank because they are too young if they are about 4-5 inches then you can tell by the hump but not always venting i will give u a link to it but gotta know some more details about them.....also food wise anything will almost do pellets no flakes some brine shrimp for treats on the weekend shouldnt be everyday.. and some blood worms they love those i feed mines those no problem i go by different schedules tho but people have their own ways..but mostly blood worms i would say is their main diet.

hey menace thanks for the reply. I have the 4 of them in a 135 gallon tank, they are about 1-2 inches so still very small...so far just nibbling on food sticks, beefheart, frozen shrimp not really eating just nibbling. They have like 10 more at the lfs and cheapest ive seen them for around here so i could deffinately get more. thanks.

Hi,
I rescued two frontosa's about six week's ago, congrats on having such wonderfull fish! Frontosa's are slow growing fish mine are 3inhes and the other 4.5inches, a hump is starting to appear on the larger one. I have been told that the estimated age on my particular fish is around 18 months. Frontosa's are not really fast eaters and as you are finding mine seem to nibble rather than gobble. I'm experimenting with thier diet but think they have been fed nothing but feeders so have a mission to get them to eat safer meals lol.

frontosa's do not become sexually mature untill they are between 2 and 3 years old, I have read that it is best to keep one male with three females. To get the best results with any fish its best not to breed them with thier sibblings (brothers and sisters) so it would be better if you could get some more from a different batch, also make sure you are breeding very healthy fish to ensure the healthiest fry. Good luck hun x

Thanks, I've been looking for another forum for a while, but its hard to find a good one, been browsing here and decided it was about time I registered, guess u'll hear more from me.........Lol. What other fish do you keep?

i like cichlids and oddballs mostly but have some other stuff too. I have some african pikes, african tiger fish, red tail barracuda, payara, some pike cichlids, pbass, bichir, barramundi, and some other stuff. i have like 4 tanks. One of them is called my "teeth tank" for obvious reasons lol.

Wow, sounds like these Fonts will be the pussy cats of your collection, what size is ur teeth tank? must be huge! Would be good to see some pics of you tanks x
