I just got home from work and found that barely any water is being circulated through my new FX5. This thing is one week old and problems already? Any idea to what might be causing this what should be my plan of action to remedy this? I have no idea why this would be happening. Everything is on tight. The only thing that might possibly be it is that my intake from the tank is fairly close to the bottom. This guy is frustrated.

What is it stacked with? I know floss and polish pads will slow it down pretty quick

What media are you running? The finer stuff tends to clog badly. And you hear any noises? Like grinding or something? Check the hosing as well.

All is nice and quiet but there is just barely any flow going in or coming out. I did put a water polishing pad on the bottom layer as suggested with bioballson top. Then in the middle some bags of crushed coral and charcoal and then filled the top with prefilter.
Those water polishing pads really slow the flow after a few days,i use an aq110 with filter floss,i found my fx5 flows way better without pads/floss

Polishing pad has been removed. Filter has just finished it's priming sequence and water is back flowing as it should be. Thanks to those who responded and to MFK for saving the day once again. Honestly...I don't know what I would do without you all. Much appreciated!!!
The oem polishing pads are ok to use. I use them in my fx5 and the flow is fine. Just make sure it's placed in the top tray not the bottom.
