Thanks i just cheaped out and got aquaClear bag for carbon. Im have problems with the flow... the out is wide open and the in is half way. This filter is in my 60g to get the bio started. I cant seem to get a good rate going. if i set both valve 2 halfway the filter stops flowing... how do i go about this limit in or out flow?

ALWAYS limit the output of an aquarium pump...never starve the pump for water...

Oh thanks. Sound alot better now too. I dont know how long i should pump the thing before putting it back on the 240G. The tank water will be fresh non cycled. But the Media in the filter ill be ready. Should i still allow some more time cycling the tank with filter? Does BioMax ever get old? i read someplace it can dry out if not keeped in water. i have the same biomax in my 303 for 3 ish years. :) clean the damn thing out last night it smelled really bad. 2month sence last change.

One of the misconceptions is about cycling...100% fresh de-clorinated water on a cycled filter, is a good thing. What gets cycled or establshed, is the filter, not the water. The water is what the Ammonia is deposited into that the filter removes... ;)
