great. might take him back and get a 20.00 store credit. I really don't want him eating the gourami (his size). what should I expect for growth rate? he is partitioned off now as he is maybe 6 inches long. i was hoping for one of the smaller gar so i could keep it in my 48x24x24.

my gator grew fast. I mean fast. I've had it for like 4 months, I got it at 4 inches, and now its like 16 inches maybe. I powerfed it with silversides and shrimp by hand. They get quite aggressive, and don't underestimate their swallowing capabilities. They can probably unhinge their jaw to twice its normal size
 
yeah im about to take him back, ive been looking for a gar for so long, i figured i would get him before someone else did. the guy told me he would give me a store credit.

my rt gourami has also started to pic on it.
 
give snookn21 a pm. he has some floridas available(great guy great service and great product, highly reconmened by a few of us gar keepers)
 
saw that yesterday. might just hold off for now after 3-4 weeks looking for one, I got the gourami who may not tolerate a gar tank mate.
