new geo cichlid

Looks like tapajos to me too. A young one just starting to color up.
 
im about to get back and get more loaches and geos, they had a tank full of them, that guy was the biggest
what is a good number to get

At 5 bucks a pop i'd by 10+! they look awesome in large groups sifting sand.
 
They don't look like Geophagus Rio Tapajos Orange Head OR Araguaia Orange head to me :confused:

They sort of look like dicrozoster but i think the 5th and 6th stress bar form a 'Y' in that sp.

Ask the guy at the shop and i'll see what i come up with.

Bottom line... BUY MORE! :ROFL:

Wouldn't it be easier to call the store where you got it and ask them? Then again, the store probably had them listed wrong and probably as surinamensis.

It is most definitely not "Tapajos Red Head" or "Orange Head Aragauia". They have striped tails. I am thinking it is dicrozoster, also known as sp. "Columbia". The pattern indicates this particular fish. That's why I asked about the balck stripe on the cheek.
