new geophagus ID and sex please

picked him or her up today, im guessing its a male as his fins were much longer than any of the others in the tank, he was sold as a surinamensis, can anyone confirm this?thanks

its an earth eater. cudnt tell yu wat specificly or sex. but deffo earth eater if yu dnt allready know. xx
 
Looks like an Altifrons, long filaments.
 
thanks for the replies guys, i must admit when i saw the tank with them in it i thought they looked more like altrifrons than surinamensis.

i think all the rest in the tank were females, ive already decided i need to go back and get him a friend!

Not a Geophagus Surinamensis, yes Geophagus Altifrons.

Filament length rarely has anything to do with a given species. I have Geophagus Abalios with filaments just as long as any G. Altifrons seen around. The caudal fin spotting is why I say Altifrons, not the filaments. ;)
