Yesterday kicked of the installation phase of the new 900 gal system.

I had a steel stand built by a metal vendor that works for me. It was perfect - less than 1/32 in variation across the entire stand. It was then powder coated in white.

The tanks were ordered from Glasscages.com in October and finally delivered (by me and 10 guys) to my house yesterday. There is a plastic frame on the top, but not on the bottom (bottom has internal ero-bracing). As noted by others - glasscages.com customer service is quite poor. Beth the owners husband seems to be a pain point for them. I ordered 3 custom glass tanks for holding and filtration under the tank - I gave them my payment info ect. They said they would get on it. I checked in 3 weeks later and Beth said they needed me to fax my signature before they could begin. WTH. Anyway... I have 20 drilled holes in the 4 tanks and that posed a challenge for them too. At first they said they wouldn't do it, then they reconsidered when I said I needed the holes or I would have someone else make the small tanks. From the priliminary review, it looks like they did a decent job on all of the holes. The silicon was very sloppy and black trim on top is sloppy work too. This tank/stand is going to be enclosed in white Corian cabinetry, so many of those details won't be seen. The tank weighed about 1300 pounds - the small tanks another 900 pounds. I purchased 8 suction cups from glasscages.com that arrived with the shipment - without them, we could not have moved the tank at all. They are fun tools to have around. I DID NOT put styrofoam under the tank. Glasscages.com said they were shipping styrofoam to put under the tank, but the foam they send was very brittle and unusable. Let me know your thoughts/experience with this. As I mentioned the stand is perfectly level/square and it is sitting directly on thick concrete floors that are level as well. I don't see any issues, but this is my only concern right now. Again, let me know your thoughts. Adding foam requires 10 guys to lift and weeks of delay....not sure if there is an issue or not.

The primary tank - 120"L x 38"W x 33"T comes in around 650 gal.
- Starphire glass on front and 2 sides
- 3/4 thick glass
- 2 glass overflows with black acrylic covers
- black acrylic background

3 tanks in the stand
- Normal glass
- 150 gal holding tank
- 60 gal biological/filter tank
- 100 gal holding tank

3 Quiet One 1400 pumps
1 UV Sterilizer
2500 watts of heating
LED Stunner strips
CaribSea - Sunset Gold - Instand Aquarium Sand

P13 Black Diamonds and plecos waiting in 650 gal. holding tank in the heated garage - waiting for their new home to be ready.

If I remember correctly from the one I had, glasscages tank is a flatbottom tank meaning that the sides all sit on top of the bottom panel right? You need plywood and styrofoam under that tank.

This tank has all sides come to the bottom and the bottom panel sits within the sides. I believe the weight is focuses on the corners and edges vs. the inset bottom pane.

Amazing set up man! Just got into rays. have my first one every right now. A Hystrix, really like these guys. Have been keeping Piranha for years. Your tank looks unreal, I wish I had the ability to retain that kind of weight so I could get a set up going like that! I would buy one or two more rays if I could lol. I can't wait to see the progress and hear the expertise on rays with this site. Also I had a rather large tank back in Texas that cracked because I didn't have it on wood and foam.. I set it just on the stand.. I'm sure you know the wood and foam help the tank itself settle to take some of the stress off the walls. It's needed.. I didn't think it was.. measured mine out several times both empty and full we were perfectly level.. lasted about 8 months.. had to drain it down remove decor send it off to be fixed then get it back.. total cost with shipping it hot shot express and the repair was 1200 bucks.. costly mistake and the time was worth more to me then the cash
