I picked these 3 up from a guy that I have been bugging to get his fish into a bigger tank...

Personally they are too big for this 90gallon as well, but WAY better than the 25 gallon they came out of...They are a little timid cause they are used to closer spaces, but they'll come around!

I spent all night rearranging fish stock to get them where they are at. This is now a cold water tank, and I moved the little fish out of here and into my 55 gallon, now heated, awaiting a final parameter check before my Golden Clown Knife...For another thread...

Here is the tank set up after the dust settled...Again the rest for another thread.;)

Nice save. I like those shubies.

Something wring with the red-flanked one? Looks like something above his left eye in pic 3.

EDIT: Almost forgot ID. Carassius auratus auratus. :D

Nothing wrong but ruffled scales from moving and stress...That is a bubble your seeing, and I think THEY are seeing for the first time!! They were amazed by the bubble wall for hours!

I thought they were Shubunkins, but I have NEVER seen any this big! That is a real human skull for reference. True monsters!

Your crazy why would you want a real human skull in your tank....Scary

It was free and the guy that I got it from is no longer with us(no it isn't his own skull...) It's a memorial to him of sorts...

Besides it's BEAST!

It was free (I just needed a shovel), and the guy that I got it from is no longer with us (if you know what I mean.. :naughty:)

Pretty wicked man. :grinno: I saw a monster sized skull at Costco being sold as a halloween decoration. Like 2 feet tall and painted/shaded really well. I've been considering building a ply tank around it. I think having the real deal puts my idea to shame though.

Edit: Grisly question, but does that raise your water hardness? ;)

Nice shubs! They are far smaller than hibunas and comets though. 8-10" is pretty much a good size.

So I really should not see any more growth out of these 3? They have to be about 9-10" now.

What is the suggested gallons for fish this big? Filtration issues aside. Besides the standard answer-a pond.

They will eventually go into my friends pond, but only after I think it's ready for fish...He already killed 6 outa 8 original comets because of fungus. I nursed the 2 that lived when he went on vacation, only a little bit of fin damage on one when they left my house.
