I picked up a nice big female green sunfish rescue last week, and she is an awesome fish! I have noticed the tell tale signs of ich and a couple of scales are missing,so I have medicated appropriately. All normal when transporting an already stressed big fish. It was free, so no worries, right?
Well I thought so until I was REALLY checking her out, then I saw it... She
*missing* her left pectoral fin! GONE!
I didn't catch this at first, she always shows me her right side when I'm at the tank. If there's a nub, she clutches it close to her body and I can't see it.
She swims around fine, eats great! Even got my stubborn male to eat pellets as of this morning!
But yep, she's missing parts!
