Look above the same post that emerson15 posted... an hour and 15 minutes after I had posted about the status of pics, "None yet, I just saw it last night, and she only shows me her 'good side', pics are gonna be difficult." And he's demanding pics... "get some pics" Sounds like one of my kids. I seem to attract the newest members that usually post jibberish in my threads to get their 5 posts in so they can see pictures or something.. Now Glabe with 14 posts has to take a jab too, I mean really?! Not even on topic.

Give me some time fellas...And I can respond the way I see fit in my postings...

Weird, I thought I put a reply already but oh well. I have one exactly like yours, from the research I have done through state fish ID'ers, I have come to the belief that this is a bluegill x green or redear cross. As far as I know we dont have greens up here by KCMO but I have a fish that looks identical to yours from a local lake, be it a little bigger than mine. I guess hybrid breeds are becoming more common and suffer from some oddities like extremely high male birthrate and sterility, pending the combo. I just find it odd how two breeds that look like normal sunfish cross and make this funky lil bass lookin dude. A native to the area calls them rock bass but I know its not that, he's just a crazy old fart who uses them for bait for big flathead/channel. Female bluegill are white perch too...
