New Guinea Datnoid max size?

ok so do you think a 125g is ok or is bigger required?

I think you need a 180G or bigger for Datnoids-125G will do for quite a while as they grow very slow
But they get bulky and high-bodied as they get bigger and need space

Hello so I was under the asumtion that all dats got over 18" most reaching 24" (except for silvers) but I have found several sources that say New Guinea Datnoid only get 14" so can someone clarify?

I've seen one in person between 16 and 18 inches. There also used to be a pic of one on google images on a fishing line that looked close to 2 feet.

I just found another one, look up datnoid Campbelli on wikipedia,there's a pic of a real big one on there.

Mine has grown from about 1.5" to right under 8" in almost 2 years, 180gal, still eats live only, I've got another one about 2" now in a 75gal that thankfully is eating bloodworms and seems to be growing faster
