You will probably not be happy if you cross strains. Guppies of a particular variety have to be selectively bred to maintain that strain.

im trying to get the neon out of the male so i chose females that 1 plain no neon 1 that has neon and the last one black to try to get a black or blue guppie (i guess i should have explained this in the first post)

also, remember that females can hold sperm for a few months (i think) so your first few babies may not be from your male...

it really does not matter becuase once they have them and the get big enough i am pulling the juvies out and the femails can have up to 9 batches of fry from one insemination

What do you mean '4th pic my yellow and black female but also my male'?

If your trying to make your own line, you'll be at it for years. There is a lot of record keeping and a lot of fish. If you want to bring out certain colors, You'll most likely need to line breed, or have a LOT of genes in your genes pool. And the fact that they can hold sperm means you'll only get to use your females if you got them really young or grew them yourself. Otherwise you won't know what genetics they are getting. I don't know if its out there or not, But you may want to find out what genes are recessive and which ones are dominant, and if there are co-dominant traits. You'll end up wasting lots of fry, because you'll only need 4-5 of them at a time. But I could be a fun project. If you could get like Neon Green Guppies With Red Spots and Yellow Stripes or something, that might be kinda cool. You could try it hardcore, and get 1 pint jars and drip tubes. Have the jars cascade down a shelf with the tubes connecting them with a siphon drip. Clean water on top, dirty on bottom. Guppies can live like a betta if you need them too, so you don't need to dedicate 50 tanks for your project. Just a few mason jars and drip tubs. Just an Idea though.
