I know this isn't what you are asking but you really should pick up another tank in the very near future. Otherwise you are going to have a 100 gallon tank with one flowerhorn in it. :(
Yea i have heard horror stories about the FH destroying tanks, but my friend has a FH, Parrot Fish, and 2 Oscars in a 80g. All of them are about 8" and he has no trouble im hoping i get as lucky, but if not ill be more then ready to seperate them

Like I told you in your last thread, address the algae issue head on instead of trying to combat it with a temporary solution. Also, as mentioned above, your flowerhorn will eventually kill all your other fish.

What Makes You So Sure?? You act as if it has never happen

Make sure that your tank isn't in direct sunlight too. If you leave the lights on for a long time and have sunlight exposure, you will have a lot of algae problems. Watch how much food your fish are actually eating. Excess food will add to your problem. Also, your friend should get another tank. An 80gal. for two oscars, a FH, and a parrot fish is way too small for adult fish.

Hi all my second post this time im having trouble with keeping a pleco in my tank. In my previous post i stated i have 1 oscar, 1 green terror, and one flowerhorn in 100g tank all the are between 4-6.5 inches. So the tank has been running for a couple months and algae has starting to build mainly cause i leave the light on for a bit to show the tank off :naughty:. But anyway about three weeks ago i purchased a albino pleco (bristlenose) to help and three days later he was found dead. So i figure i brought him to small only being about 2" so i purchased another one this time 4". He did fine until today i did my cleaning and cant find him at all. Last time i saw him for sure was 3 days ago. Im assuming he's being eaten by the other fish, cant be starvation i gave him wafers( actually seen him eat a wafer) and had plenty of algae for him to eat. So my question is what should i do, should i get another type of algae eater? Do i just need a bigger pleco and if so how big??

all depends give us a pic of the tank setup

Have you seen his flowerhorn or are you familiar with this particular specimen? From what I've gathered there are many types of flowerhorns not all capable of killing 2 large semi agressive cichlids

I have not kept plecos or algae eaters simply because I dislike them!
I have had issues with my 125 gallon building up brown algae towards the end of water change cycle. I realized that whenever I slacked a bit (I can, since this one houses only a single Trimac male) -- say 8-10 days between WC, I will have more algae to deal with. This with a very mild feeding regimen.

With your stocking I would recommend keeping up with WCs. You will obviously need to increase the frequency as/if all the fish grow over time.

it all depends on the species of pleco do ur research i had a nice pleco that was called a white spot pleco at the lfs but it was territorial and woulda got to large for my tank so i got rid of it.... but he did clean all the algea outta my tank tho i will tell u that. so just do ur research before u buy unless u got alot of money and want to do some testing yourself. get some big ole mystery snails they clean pretty good.
