Great looking tank you have there. The chain pickerel is pretty sweet. I have two chain pickerel in one of my tanks. They are small guys of about 8 inches now. Some of the chain pickerel I have had in the past have grown like weeds. From 5.5 inches up to 17 inches in one year was my best growth rate. I let that beast go after he out grew his tank. It was a blast feeding him large golden shiners by hand. Good luck with your pickerel.

I hope that you DID NOT let that fish go into anything but a private pond. ANY TANK KEPT NATIVE MUST NEVER BE RETURNED TO ANY WATERWAY You could easily introduce pathogens that our native fish have no resistance to! If you keep natives, have a plan for them. Or euthanize them!
