New Guy Here, Northern Pike

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
northern pike get pretty big something like 3' i believe so you need to have a very big tank at least 3' wide and probably around 6'-9' long height shouldnt be that much of a concern so like 18"-24" should be fine but that tank would be anywhere from 200 gallons to 400 gallons the most important thisng though is the width so that the fish can turn around

You are looking at a pond. They get to over 30" and over 8 pounds!

I KNEW IT...Just today I was thinking "Someone is going to post about pikes in the pike cichlid forum"....LOL.

Northern Pike are far to large for home aquaria. What you should look into is the smaller species like chain pickerel and even better...redfin pickerel. Redfins are the smallest member of the pike family and don't get much over a foot in length.

Thanks everyone! I'm kinda new to this "monster fish" keeping thing, so I Think I'll get a Pickerel Instead. How big of a tank do they need? Thanks so much for the replies!
