Hey all
brandnew here and to fiish keeping. sofar it has been a pain figering out how to get on here. have attempted to post 3 times on here. hope this works.
i have two tanks a 30 and 15 gal. just repaired the small one. the big one was way over crowded. it contained 3 big sucker fish, 2 pacus, 12 yellow fish that were supposed to be feeders for the crawdads. there are 6 or 7 adults one of witch is a big horney male. there at least a dozzen little ones. can`t count them cause there too fast or i`m too old. today i shrank the population in half.
i have a half built 200 gal plastic tank comming along. gona use a pool filter u/v light o and co2 so i can have a planted tank. hopefully i can find some plants that will out grow the rentless attack of the pacus and crawdads. prob wishful thinking. guess aughto get a big light too.
y`ll prob croke next cause i use well water. just bring in the garden hose and fill up the tanks. made a tank vacume using water filter housings and sump pump. sucked up a baby crawdad but it is ok. gota get the big tank done. getting tired of looking at it setting side ways in the living room.
havent had any troubles with the tanks. guess overfeed them but i think it keeps the crawdads from eating each other. have one crawdad that looks like it has short white hair all over but it is very active so don`t figger it is sick. every one else is quite active.
well nuff of my rantings good to be on this site.

You had 2 pacus and 3 plecos in a 30 gallon? Along with some dozen other fish!? I would do some reading around in here. The 200 gallon will def be helpful but will still not be enough imo. I also doubt a pool filter will provide enough filtration for that bio load. GL

Welcome to monster fish keepers!!!
Like said above the pacu get very big, I have a 560gal tank and I still would not put a pacu in it because they get to big for my tank in my opinion.
And if your sucker fish are common pleco's they too are going to get too big for your 30 gal tank soon if they are not already too big.

You have come to the right place for info and dont be afraid to use the search function on the left side of the screen to do some reserch on the fish you have.

Once again welcome to MONSTER FISH KEEPERS!!!
