im pretty sure kamfas tht have different eye colors are hybrids. the true kamfa is the Classic Kamfa, white eyes.

There is no True kamfa flowerhorn, its what someone prefers or the norm as in features. I've been around for a while and "orginal" kamfas had red eyes when they first started coming out around in the mid 1990's. Through imbreeding as in father with daugther, sisters with brothers or mom and son lead their original strain to have a weaker fertility rate and with this breeders have noticed white/yellowish eyes generally mean inferential. Breeders note red eyes just mean they have a higher chance they are fertile and no kamfa strain has just white eyes because that would mean the chance for them breeding together successfully is minimal and successful.

Beautiful fish man. Keep us updated.

Thanks for the comments everyone...

I'm surprised I missed this thread. Thanks for sharing Cho. Some interesting ideas regarding eye color and fertility. Also, I didn't realize the male flowerhorns took so long to reach sexual maturity. I wonder if the infertility still runs the same, since the craze died down now some 4 years after the post and I'm not sure farms really need to "protect" their strains.

That is true but chonburimon is very sketchy, he does have great fish though. Hes banned on here banned on flowerhorncraz and many other sites. I would advise your friend to not do business with him again. He has been a problem on here sending the wrong fish and not refunding money if the fish is dead etc. I was going to buy from him but i found out about the horrible reviews. But he does get pretty good quality fish and they are stunners most of the time so good luck with your fish and be sure to update. I wish you the best of luck!

Hmm. Well as far as things went for my last flowerhorn, and this one I purchased off a friend. The transactions went through without a hitch and we received what we expected. I'm not saying what you've said isn't true, but just my experience. It was far less then the 9.9 and ghost riders I've seen so won't complain so much and was just inside my budget(I've noticed he raised his rates +$50 though) and a lot cheaper then collecting plecos. Unfortunately I can't afford to house another flowerhorn properly, so I guess I'm safe, for now. Anyhow thanks for the input, something to put into consideration. Cheers...
