Was exploring his new tank

His old tank, a Fluval Flex 32.5 gallon is empty and will be replaced with a standard 40B

I always felt bad with how the reflection and curvature of the Fluval would throw off the puffers ability to see his food. A standard bowfront doesn't seem to have the same issue. Plus an interactive fish like my puffer now has a prominent place where hopefully he gets even more outgoing because he will see more of what is going on in the fishroom.

Excellent update & amazing fish. I been meaning to pick one of these up! Seem to grow pretty slow, I remember loving this fish 10 years ago!
I love hairy puffers, great wet pets for sure. My current one named ‘Gizmo’ is fun but nowhere near as personable as my first one this thread was about, that one was named ‘Scruffy’ . She was a huge beggar and as personable as an Oscar or any cichlids Ive owned. When she passed I knew I wanted another.

With all the changes to MFK over the years I noticed a ton of older pictures no longer show up so I decided to post some "Best of" pics of my original puffer "Scruffy" so that they now can be seen again.

She always wanted to see what was going on around her in the fishroom

She had a spot under a piece of driftwood that acted as a cave. She looked like a dog in a doghouse at times with how she would settle in and always face out

I absolutely loved this behavior. I had a piece of driftwood that she treated as a 'perch' and would settle in and just watch the goings on in the fishroom, waiting to see if she was going to be fed.

And of course she constantly loved to puff, dont know why... this one was semi-puffed (not full blown)

Hope you guys enjoy the puffer pics!
