New heavy duty 1000 watt heaters came in

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the relay allows a controller to control a higher currant. basically acting as a switch, when the temp drops, the controller sends a signal to the coil on the relay and closes the contacts allowing the heaters to heat.

1000W+1400W=2400W W=va 2400W/120V=20A which is still to high for a single 20 amp circuit. only run a breaker at 75% of its total currant rating.

Dan, if you are looking for heaters with the standard plug. I've been using these for a couple of years with my Ranco controller. These have proven to be top notch.

Thanks, Bobby! I would hate to have to cut the plug off a brand new heater...

On the subject of electricity costs, it is amazing how different utility rates are across the country/world. We have pretty cheap power here at $.0678/KWh. For me that 1000W heater would cost $48/month to run, 1/5 what it would cost to run in the Bay Area. At least it is a little warmer down there...
