New here and new p.bass owner needs help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
like everyone said you really need to keep the temp at aroiund 87f, keep the oxygen levels up and if your 100% they have ich start adding salt and increasing your water changes, their appetite should return in a few days..

live brine would also help buddy. just watch with the water changes, becuase your going to remove your bacteria with them, which will increase ammonia levels down the road, make sure you add live bacteria back into the tank.

Their appetites are coming back nicely they have ate quite a few bloodworms now and are getting more active with time. Thanks for all the replies you guys are great on this board. I can see these fish are going to be an expensive and time consuming addiction but in the end I think I will love these things.

Well I was doing good (so I thought) but I woke up this morning and the 3 new baby p.bass were dead. All my other fish including the slightly larger p.bass are fine but the 3 babies died. I took them back to the LFS I got them from because they had ich when I picked them up and she said if they died I would get 3 new ones free but I told her this time I wont take them if they have ich and shes going to try to get me some larger ones. Thanks for all your help!! Hopefully the next set of fish aren't sick and I will be able to get pictures for you guys.
