So I have a 200g 6 1/2 ft tank with the following stocking -

1 Common Pleco
1 Senegal Bichir
2 Pink Convicts
2 Normal Cons
1 Gibbicep Pleco (soon to be rehomed)

So my question is what other cichlid can I add?

My pink female con has paired with my black male if that makes a difference.

I like - Blue Gene Jack Dempseys, Red Terror ( True Festae), Firemouths, Oscars, Blue Acara, Green Terror, Jaguar Cichlid, Dwarf Pike

Which or how many of these can I add?

I have a jd, festae, freddy, midas and a con in a 300 with plecos. Ii tried for about 2 months to house a firemouth and gt with them and failed. I could not keep the firemouth or gt from punking everyone in the tank so i rehomed them. Not saying that this would be the same experience you will have, but anything is possible.

So far, my festae is pretty mellow. It's my favorite cichlid, so Id build around that

Festae and blue gene jack dempsey are some of my favorite cichlids, Im thinking about getting them to then, will they be able to handle my convict pair?

It is a hit or a miss with Dempsey's, but the one I have currently is one bad azz cichlid that wont take crap from other cichlids in my tank.

So its best not to buy juvys then?
Also when my male con is with the female con and their swimming together, he tends to flare at her, opening his gills but she doesnt seem bothered? One more thing, when a male and female con pair, will they swim together all of time or just sometimes?

Thanks

As long as they are not too small when you introduce them, I think your chance s are good in a 6 1/2 footer, but you never really know with convicts. Id try it, but have a backup plan in case it doesn't work. My festae and con flare up on each other all the time and they are really the only 2 fish that do this. Id make sure the festae is bigger than the cons if I were gonna try this, especially if the cons are paired up.
