picked up a group of six from a local guy who is breaking down his tank and moving on to saltwater. They are currently in a 75g with 5 small chuco micropthalamus. Planning to move them into a 125 in about six months, but wondering how aggressive they are once they pair off. My understanding is that Het's are generally fairly mellow as Veija's go. 20170520_202744.jpg 20170520_202347.jpg

Awesome pick ups. They should be on the mellow side. The microphthalmus would probably be more aggressive. The hets aren't a veija anymore. They are now oscura.

Those are awesome

Not sure I am going to keep the mircophthalmus long term, so if they get too aggressive i can get rid of them. So far they don't mess with they het's at all since they are 1/3 their size.

I hope it works. You never know. I've read a lot of mixed things on their aggression.
I'm just saying in general they are more aggressive than hets.
Sometimes more aggressive species can live with not so aggressive species. An example is I have h. Deppii and t. Salvini with thorichthys. Deppii and salvini are generally more aggressive, but it works out with no issues.

I guess I will find out. Would the het's get a long with an Agrenta?

Also just picked up a 4x2x30" 150g for cheap off CL, so I am moving the group into that in the next few days. Longer term I will pickup a 6' tank.

Generally Argentina get nasty as they grow. You could try it and see how things work out but I would not advise it.

Beautiful hets by the way.
I think you stand more chance with the micropthalmus.
