its a great idea but when my snapper was small i tried something kinda like that but my snapper kept knocking it over. i just and went and got one of the tetra internal filters from walmart that sticks to the side of the tank with suction cups. works in like 1 1/2 inches of water and up. its the same filter that petsmart carries for 25 labeled as a reptile filter. the one from walmart is black tho. and its only 10 bucks. worked great. ive since then had to upgrade as he got bigger and got a larger tank. and started eating alot more. but when you go big when he gets older ive heard many good things about the new fluval internal line.
