for an arowana you need the width to be the length of the arowana and the length to be double the length of the arowana, at a minimum.quote]

Almost well said, Poo. This is not only a statement that sould be acknowledged by Arowana keepers, yet a statement that should be acknowedged by all, and for all fishes. All fishes "need" "at least" an inch, either end, in terms of width. And the length of the aquarium should be "at least" triple the length of the "adult specimen".

Not that i care at all for Flower-horn, but both your Oscar and Fh "deserve" 75g each.

I'm a sucker for allowing them their permanent home from an inch long.

I'll hold off on the Aro and focus on giving my TO and FH proper homes.
Thanks for the advice/replies everyone!! :headbang2

welcome to MFK.to tell you the truth,i think fhs are retarded.the humps get to big and it makes them look disgusting, plus they are really mean.there are much better cichlids out there that arent inbred freaks.if you want something big and mean, get a jag.if you want it pretty, get a salvini,or a jack dempsey.i just hope you didnt spend too much on it ,cause its just a hybrid.

Not all flowerhorns develop a big head hell I've seen midas with larger humps. So are you saying that they are retarded and disgusting as well?

Here are a few pics of my Oscar.
My Flowerhorn was toying with that feeder and my Pictus just can't sit still.

The Oscar is not suffering from HITH. He went after a few pellets that were floating by the filter and as he swam up to swallow the pellets, he scraped his head on the filter plastic. It's healed up pretty quickly. You can barely see any sign of a scrape.

As for my Flowerhorn, I bought him/her at TAT Tropical Illusion, my favorite LFS, for $8.00 at a little over an inch. Now it's a little over two inches and will mess with anything smaller than it in the tank but leave the Oscar and Pictus alone.

the only humped fish that i like are frontosas,so that would be a yes

Don't be ignorant. Many cichlids develop nuchal humps. Green Terrors, Midas, even my tex is starting to develop a nice goose egg. FH's are line-bred for their nuchal hump. You can do the very same with any other cichlid, pure bred or not. Keep your Hybrid Flaming out of other peoples posts. You wanna whine, make your own.

PS- Excellent looking fish, and Great pics! Welcome to the forum. :D
