new house, new fishroom, 4,000 gallon tank, 1,000 gallon tank, many others and ponds,

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sometimes we as human beings are humbled by certain things on earth. This is one of those times. Geeze. Incredible. wow. What a fish room!!!!!
smile, well thank you :)

Nice work, brah. What's the rent?
thanks, and everybodys been asking about the bills, so im gonna do a breakdown and post it, but as far as the rent, do you mean that you want to come live in the fishroom?? :) , if you mean how much is the rent at my house, i bought it, from someone that was going to lose it, so they sold it to me for the money they had left owed, the city taxes me on 325,000 they say the house is worth, 7200 sq ft, 5 bath, 5 bedrms, indoor pool, 3 acres. but i bought the house for 140,000 that he owed, and he walked away from it. and then added the 25x45 fishroom and driveway that goes around the house to the new fishroom, so i pay no rent, unless you guys figure the taxes which is 6000 a year so i pay 500 a month to my bank acount so it dont hurt when you get the 6000 bill for taxes, but it still does :)
hope that answers your question,

good deal! not sure if i missed it but are you heating the room or each filtration set up? i know you put up green board when you built the building but are you doing anything else for humidity?

hi, yes we are heating the whole room to 80, and the ponds on the floor stay around 77 or so, and the tall tanks stay at 80, and for the humidity, first i try to keep as many tanks covered with plastic, like the 4000 you can not see the plastic but if you want to open the tops, you have to move the plastic, i cant really do anything about the pool or the open top tanks, so i run a dehumidifier in the room , hooked up to a garden hose, i was emptying it 3 to 4 times a day, now it just runs whenever and the humidity is kept at 55 percent, i also tried to limit the amount of "splash" that i get from water from the pvc pipes entering the pool and the tubs, so instead of letting the water fall 2 feet, i placed a piece of pipe there so that the inlet was about 2 inches above the water line, and of course anytime its a warm day 75-90 i just open the 6 foot doors and let the wind take care ove everything, i just turn off the heat for thoses days ,
thanks
bigrich

Hi Bigrich! Like everyone else I am really impressed with your fish room. You need to set up a gate and start charging admission! lol. It must be amazing to see all those tanks in person. It's hard to envision from just pictures.

I was just wondering how the arowana and others that you picked up from us on Sunday were doing. I hope they all made the trip ok.

Awesome updates, it look's like everything is going well. I can't wait to see that dogbone running again...

hiya guys, i found this article written in the strongsville post, that was all about the day i had to go to court to try and build my fish room, and all the grief i went through to finally get turned down,

the way around all there bull was to forget about the 16 foot garage door on the addition and then call it a room addition because if there was no garage door, they could not tell me that i cant build it, so we built the room as a room addition and had to stick to a 6 foot wide double door,

That's ridiculous that your neighbors opposed your plans. You sure had to endure a lot of grief and hassle for your addition.
