^^ Also we have to think of things from the perspective of a lever... the farther from the fulcrum the weight is applied the more force it will offer... in other words the farther from the load bearing wall the tank is place the more likely it will bend the beam...
Most of these rating systems are formulated by conservative engineers who find the breaking limit and then reduce it by 2.5 fold. But at the same time we have to read the entire explaination of the rating system to understand how it is applied. Applying the wrong standard to a given situation is a quick way to leading yourself into a false sense of security... Or creating concern where there is none...
Nothing beats a thorough understanding of the situation at hand...
