New Idea on weighting lids

I used books, big ones like Dr. Axelrod's Atlas of Freshwater Aquarium Fish. That thing weighs a ton! Now he lives in an old bathtub with a huge screen top framed with 2x4's...he ain't knocking that off.

I thought of putting bubble wrap on the inside of the tank lid but it is already 2 late for my Silver. Head bump and drop eye, coincidence or not?

Good idea, but I don't have the same kinda hood as you I guess cause the lights sit right on top of the tops. My Aro knocked the top in one day and a 24" section of light (plugged in) fried, lucky the Aro didn't fry. Aro's make good candidates for the Darwin Awards.

This has happened to me too. I was pretty freaked out... was my RTG that knocked it in.

The cat tried to sit on it once. last year, cat went straight down into the tank and the Aro jumped out and all the power was on! Ha Ha ultimately the funniest thing I've ever seen. No one got hurt, cat was renamed Moses!
