New In-Wall Display Aquarium Questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thank you. I am excited! The tank kept getting bigger and bigger as I kept planning it. My wife finally said that 300g is enough, lol.
I was looking at the silver dollars, just never have had them before. I think the shiny silver bodies would offset the oscars nicely. Thanks for the suggestions, gonna look more into them.
I think you will like silver dollars. They are very easy to keep. They will eat pretty much anything you through in the tank and some can grow quite quickly.
With your tank being a 300 gallon aquarium, you can do about 4 to 6 redhooks or black bars.
Or a big school of regular metynnis.

Man, I really like the look of the red hook silver dollars. Those are more my favorite so far. I'm going to go do some research on them and see how they'll fit in.

Silver dollars are a great fish to add. I have a group of six of the spotted silver dollars in with my Bleekeri. The neat thing about them is they are a schooling fish so they usually swim around in a tight group and are almost always moving so they make for an active tank.

I really like the way they look, especially when they group together and flash when the light hits them. Is six a fairly good number of them to get? Everything I've been reading says at least 4, but more is better.
I really like the way that they move around as well, should add some movement to my tank when the Oscars get lazy.

Yeah they are best kept in groups of at least 4-6. They get around 8"-9" or there abouts You've got a big tank though so I think you could probably get away with a bit more than six if you wanted. A group of eight would probably be a good number with the oscar.
