So we traded someone one who had (what we thought) was just a 100gal+ tank. The guy drove for about 3 hours to get here and we had already made the trade pretty final. He shows up with this: A commercial lobster tank from albertsons! At first I was not very happy but now it's growing on me :) We don't exactly know what we're putting in it yet but we are in the process of cycling. Just thought I would share.

Anyone else have anything like this? It comes with an in-tank sump with bio wheel and lighting built in. We are obviously going to get substrate for it and pain the background back so it will look a little nicer.

What do you guys think?!

lol. Very interesting. keep us updated on the lobster tank haha

It is a 4'x2'x2' So about 120 gallons. But the in tank sump thing takes up a lot of room which I don't like at all. But I have heard that fish don't even realize how much swimming room they have. They only can tell how much water is actually cycling through the tank. Not sure if that's true or not, but it sounds good!

Kind of neat I guess, but I probably would have sent the fellow packing three hours home with his lobster tank.

We traded a set of tires that had been sitting in storage since we moved into an apartment and tried to sell them on craigslist and no luck. So This guy really wanted them and said he had a "fish tank" to trade and this is what we ended up with lol. It was a friend of the family so that is why we didn't send him packing, tank and all. And we had no use for the tires anymore. So a couple hundred dollars worth of trade.

As it sits right now I don't really like it. But with some work i think it can be turned into something nice and unique.

Tires for tank is a good trade, even if it is an oddball tank. I change my mind about my last post, hehah.
