That's a great price for a Jag of this size. It could just be the angle of the camera but his eyes look a little bugged out. If his eyes are really swollen or sticking out, you may need to treat him. From what you wrote in post #9 the Jag could be suffering from an internal illness.
Thats what got me worried. I hope its not the case, but if it is, do you know any other symptoms I could look for? He seems fine other than the laziness I was talking about. It is sort of weird that he always has his mouth kind of open and his gills slightly flared. I just thought he was trying to look tough, showing off that jag attitude. On a side note is anyone else having trouble with these reply boxes? Mine is white writing on a white background. I've got to keep highlighting my paragraph to see what I wrote. Thanks for your reply by the way.
I treated the tank and I have to say I have seen a big difference in this guy. Day 2 and he's tearing ass around the tank chasing the con. Great call Gruff. He's got his grit back.
That's awesome! I'm glad that you found out what was going on with the Jag. It sounds like he is taking advantage of his improving health. Jags are great cichlids. Keep us posted.
Just wanted to throw up a shot of my man in his new tank. His vertical bars are fading off and he has an awesome blue streak along his back and dorsal. This picture doesn't do it justice. Great fish, no way this was originally a part of petsmarts stock.
