New Jag picky eater? need ideas for food

i havn't noticed any stingy feces anything suggesting internal parasites. so far it ate a tiny piece of shrimp and a piece of a flake. lol just doesn't seem to enthusiastic about food. i'll blood worms next. hopefully this works

I'd say it is still adjusting then. Check your water params and try not to disturb him too much. Hopefully he'll come out of his shell. Often cichlids don't show personality until much larger. You can try adding some dithers too.

what would you suggest for dithers? i'm going to the lfs in a bit to get blood worms.

I finally got my jag to eat it was the most random food too, i tried putting in some prime reef flakes i have for my sw fish and he went straight for it.
