mate im pretty sure that there both still males. the females are less mottled and more barred. Again i could be wrong but im sure one of the experts will chipin again and let you know for sure

I think the new one might be a male as well. Hard to tell at that size.

in the first pic the jag on the bottom iv had ever since i got a tank. an the one on the top was the female of the pair that i bought it from. and in the second pic is the jag that was paired up with the jag on top.

does this make sence?

i agree. Females also have a taller wider body as compared to the more slender male
