I know they're more high maintenance then just jeeping them by themselves but i thought the difference in maintenance wasn't too extreme?be careful what you ask for, breading jags are high maintenance.

Yeah ok I'm prepared for all this just need some filter socks, thanksbetween the fighting, the fry, the i am not eating this week im pissed, the digging bla bla bla, all intakes will need filter socks, these need to be cleaned also every week at least, just allot more more maintenance than just a good vacuum and water change every week.
Crikey that's a lot of fry! How many of those survive and make it to grow outs?jags have large spawns, and when they become free swimmer they raise like a swarm, your filter be full of fry, here a vid of one of my spawns from my WC pair. \
Oh righto I may just get a male then by himselfI use to keep them for sale. about a 3rd will make it to a nursery tank. but once you have flooded all the lfs that will sell jags just nothing to do with them, so now all spawns are fish food for my other fish. Ya F1 jags, fish food.
here some little grow outs.
Ok, I really want a male, but this female has good colours and I don't really want to give her up so I'm not sure what to do atm lolI do have 2 over acheavors(sp) from a spawn I am raising, a male and a female, They both going to be bigger than there parents, with WC fish. no ideal how long they struggled for a good diet before caught , so hard to say how old they are, F1 you raise from fry have a jump on there grow year as they have the tank space, they have the good diet and they do not have the stress.
male is almost as big as dad in less than a year, and female has already past her mom.
