Actually the top one is a female....she has layed eggs (at lfs, watched her myself) was in tank alone.
Bottom one male, was showing sex organ while courting my FH, got beat up by my texas who was the one to fertilize the eggs.
Looks can be deceiving...
I attached a (bad) pic of both of them......he is still quite small (4")

Well afer much coaxing from the smaller male jag, the female finally gave in spawned with him. Poor bugger worked day and night to win her affection.
SHe had her eye on the big Texas in the tank, but he wasn't straying from his mate. WOW I just realized that it is like a soap opera in my tanks. Anyway here is the pic of future managuenses, cross your fingers that he was fish enough to fertilize.

Now, Im not so sure about my (2) 3" jaguar growouts. I guess looks can be deceiving.
