I just added my Jardini on Sunday. It hasnt eaten yet. Is this tank to big for a jardini that is about 4 inches. Will it be alright in this tank or should i move it to a smaller tank? Please help me out. Thanks a lot.

He should be fine but just keep watch that he's eating. If you feed it live (not recommended) he may have a hard time catching the food. I would feed it frozen or pellets or even freeze-dried. If you want to feed live foods, crickets would be best.

good luck with your new baby.. and keep trying to feed with out getting discouraged.. it has to settle in and become comfortable with his new surroundings.. let us know when he is eating.. we always like to hear the good news.

My baby jar is in a divided 55 gal. tank. The fish is very shy and hides in a corner at the top beneath lots of floating plants. He ate some baby crickets and red worms but is a very shy eater. Try turning your room light off and back away when you feed him.

Thanks guys. so far it has only eaten a cricket. another question that i had was how often and how much water do you guys change?

Cool, would love to see baby pix! I'm sure your fish will be fine and eating!

He should eat soon, at his size, keep with small crickets for another month, they're great along with pellets. It's normal for him to be stressed for a few days.

Water changes are a whole new story. What fish do you have in the 180, and their sizes and what do you have for filtration ? That will help you get a better basic idea across so you can get the best advice. Check your parameters to be safe too.

Enjoy your baby!

it eat today but only crickets. do these fish get dependent on a certain type of food or will it eventually eat pellets? I have aan amiracle wet dry, magnum 350 pro, and a hot magnum filtering my tank.

Have you guys been able to get your fish to eat pellets after eating only crickets?

thanks for the help
