When I got my jar, he wouldn't eat for abot 4 days. Then I threw in 12 crickets. It took him a few minutes, but when he spotted them, he ate every single one. Now he gorges himself of raw shrimp every night. It's been 2 weeks now, and he is finaly getting comfortable enough not to dart away when I get close to the tank. It just takes some time. keep a bowl or something in the tank so that you can drop the above mentioned above the bowl and the jar can find food easy, and the worms don't squirm away into the substrate

right on...when i first got my Jar he didnt eat anything for 2 days...turned out he was just a picky eater, only crickets and cichlid gold pellets...now his on a power feeding of market shrimp, f/d shrimp, and pellets.

Just a quick update he is now eating Shrimp with a vengance! No one in the tank is bothering him and he is still not bothering anyone or showing any aggression toward anyone in the tank.
He is currently 7-8" but I will continue to monitor...but so far so good.

put a chair down and just sit next to the tank for a while then try to feed, thats how i got my aro to trust me.
