New Jardini

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for the input rumblesushi. i will most likely keep it for a lil cuz as of now. the atf is chasin the **** out of the jardini hehehe =) but as soon as the tables turn i will most likely trade him in or sell him

Someone gave me a 12" plus Jardini because it was bullying all his fish (Flowerhorns, big cichlids, etc.) in his 400gal tank. So I housed this "mean" fish with all my bichirs. He doesn't bother them at all. I did have an Asian Aro back a few months with an ATF, and all they did was go after each other, taking scales here and there. I had to separate both of them because I was afraid one of them will die, and it probably will be the Asian. But I didn't want to find out.

vince - so a sub-adult atf will fight? They are not like a freshwater barracuda etc that just doesn;t fight?

I thought they were pure predators, not brawlers. My money would have been on the asian aro.

This is how I saw them going at each other. The asian aro would try to go after the ATF, but then the ATF would avoid it, and then go back and tag the asian aro and grab a piece of scale. The ATF has some fins off the tail taken out, but I never see the attack. But I have seen the ATF do a counter attack, and only a counter attack, not an agressor attack. Fun but costly.

can anyone tell me if i can put a stingray and a Jar togther? i figure top and bottom? would th jar swim to the bottom and bother it?

That's hard to say because I have that 14" Jardini with the bichirs, and my rays are in a separate tank and they are only about 4" diameter. Trying to grow them. I don't think the Jardini would bother the rays, but I am guessing that Jardinis have their own personality, so that would be hard to predict.
