Take it easy guys, no one was flaming him. I'm sure they were just trying to help.

Mikei, great pickup. I love all your choices of fish and Rapps' stock is some of the best.

Heres a female I got from Jeff about 6 weeks ago. It was part of a pair...so I wonder if it could be your baby mama!
That fish is simply incredible!

I can only hope that mine is related to that!!!!!

Wow

I am really speechless!

Thanks balton, I know you guys understand, but I guess Capefeartarheel didn't get the memo that fishcare is what the site is about.

Mikei, sorry for the derail. The tank truly is very nice.
Hey everyone,

I am not offended by anyone at all.

I have a new love for this hobby. That said, I am a noob and really want people to give me advice, compliments and constructive criticism.

I am worried a bit that I might have gone overboard. I certainly didn't mean to. I just got caught up in it. A weakness of mine.

But, I will not let the fish suffer at all. If at any point, there is an abundance of aggression in my tank, I will either
1. Buy an additional tank
2. Move fish to a new home with someone else who has sufficient room.

All of you guys have been great. I am looking forward to learning from all of you.

So please, do not hold back. I do not get offended easily and understand people are trying to help.

That is what I need.

So thank you in advance for your assistance.

Mike

I know how you feel. I wish I could keep a pair of every fish on the planet lol. Unfortunately I'm limited to six tanks. Two larger ones and four smaller ones. And one of them is a hospital tank. I have to do the best I can with what I have to work with because according to my wife, I'm done with tank purchases. :( When my fish get too big I find a new home for it. That works out good for me and the new owner. I do all the work raising up the fish and someone else gets the reward of a super healthy big adult fish.

Yours already has better color than most Ive seen twice that size. Simply Beautiful. Also, dont worry about it being overstocked. Some people dont understand the concept of upgrading the tank when the fish are ready, not buying the tank for them to grow into. Most of us dont have $1200+ for a tank to hold 8 3 inch fish so starting small is a good first step.

Here is my current inventory of fish

Parrot - 5"
3 Parrot / Red Devil Hybrids - 4" - 6"
Red Devil (Current King of Tank!) 9"
Black Belt (Only Fish that with Defend against RD) 8.5"
Red Devil (The Cowardly Lion) 7"
Red Devil 5" - 6"
Tiger Oscar 4" - 5"
Jack Dempsey 5"
2 Rainbow 5"
Male Red Terror 4"
Female Dovii 4"
Jack Dempsey 3.5"
Green Terror 3"
Jaguar 2.5"
Pleco 6"

18 fish in total in my 180 gallon.

I had all of these fish minus 6 in my old 90 Eclypse system for about the last 5 years. Never, ever had issues and as a matter of fact, my hybrids were born there! Never any problems with the fish. Always healthy. Never too much aggression (lost a couple to old age).

Hopefully what I have can hold them for a while. I do not over feed. I heard this may ease aggression in cichlids.
