New Job

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I used to go there once a year.My wife and I got to go behind the exhibits. We were taking lots of pictures and I really wanted to see the Aus.Lungfish and right next their tank was the giant alligator gar that had a sign that warned the gar bites. We were looking at the lungfish and I wasn't watching my wife. She was trying to tank some pictures of the gar from the top of it's tank when we herd a loud splash and a big chomp. The gar had tried to bite her and just missed. We saw the gars head come just out of the water. We were asked to leave right then.He started to scream and asked can't you read the sign ? and a few other words. That was a close call.

Good luck on the new job.

Can you tell them to lower the cost for general admission? $30 for 1 adult and $25 for 1 youth? Lucky my GF had free tickets... I would have never paid $60 to get in. I remember the old price for admission was like $8 for 1 adult before the remodel. That place is not for poor folks.... if you are a family on a budget... that would be big chunk out of the budget.

I know, I love it. I go in early so i can watch the swamp tank. And I also applied as a volunteer so i can feed the fish in the mornings. I figure it wont hurt to learn a bit more.

I love that place!!!
The catfish are amazing (:

I heard a story that a lady dropped her phone into the swamp exhibit and while she was still screaming "MY PHONE" a catfish sucked it up and has to be removed from the tank to have the phone removed :WHOA:
