Tried to look through forum, did not see any answers. Just bought a 7" silver arowana. LFS said he fed her a cricket in the morning, and dried krill in the PM. I tried giving her a cricket twice today, se swims around, makes sure nobody else in tank eats it, but she does not eat it.

How long should I wait before I worry? Anything else you guys recommend trying to feed her?

it can take time for fish to settle in and eat.
keep trying to feed and remove any uneaten food unless your other fish eat it.
you could also try other foods like pellet

Time is what you need fella like i said on another post iot all depends on how stressed the fish gets on moving him ! it can take acouple of hours to a couple of days befor he will eat maybe even a week but he won't eat until he feels safe and secure . Bare with him try chucking in some floating pellets and see how you go !

Ok only have sinking pellets, but will go buy floating pellets tomorrow, and see what he does. I know I have to be patient...but sometimes i'm a little impatient ;)

I hate those darn crickets BTW...yuck. I don't mind handling squid and octopuss for the other fish, but those bugs...superworms even worst. I could never have a reptile...lol

mine ate right after i let her out of the bag :naughty:
May take 2 weeks before Aro will take food again, don't foul water with food. At 7" the Aro would probably perfer larger food, try a feeder goldfish...crickets are to small for some big fish to bother

LOL it's funny how some people like feeders, and some other don't. PErsonally I have had my share of ich in a 130g, so feeders are not popular in my mind...would rather have the aro eat something else first.

And delgado, what would a "large" cricket be in terms of size? Only one size at lfs :)

One question tho...do I put the cricket alive in there, or dead? Cause so far with live crickets she does not seem to think it looks very good...
