These guys just rolled in this morning from Rare Fish. They were perfect, even though we were 10 degrees here. Currently in my 75 growout, the on to the 300. They were on the hunt for food within minutes. Blackworms i dropped in didn't last a second.

I noticed 1 of the kelberi had signs of ick. All were acting normal though. So, I turned the heat up to 87,added a few air stones aquarium salt, API Super Ick Cure...6hrs later, both kels are gasping, spinning around the tank, struggling pretty much. The tems don't seem bothered and have no signs of ick. The other kel still isn't showing ick , but im doubtful will make it. There is a small oscar also in the growout, and he seems typical as well. Not sure why only the kels seem bothered. ...Hope they pull through, but not looking good.
But that's why i got 2 of each. Any advice is appreciated. Never dealt with ick in freshwater before. Crazy huh!

Should have just turned up temp and used salt. Those treatments are harsh on young fish.

Use rid ich plus n follow the instructions on it. Either stop the filter or take out the carbon. That's how I cure my lil guys. Since they r small n delicate, some will die. Hope this help

Thanks. Kels are toast already. Tems still acting great and no signs of ick. They never had any though. Sucks it happened so quick. Don't think I've ever lost a fish so fast.

Yep. Live and learn I guess. The tems act like nothing ever happened and just want food. Ha.
