Being desert animals, they are really sensitive to moisture. They can get respiratory infection really easily, or it might get stuck under their keeled scales and give them skin infections. Even when mine is shedding, I just put her in a closed bucket with a nothing more than damp bucket.

This is my buddies snake. He left it over night in a critter keeper that he used for a feeding container and woke up to find this:

Thats terrible, really upsetting to see, imnot sure how it managed that though, was there already a hole in one of the vents? I will keep an eye on him but i was reccomended this and he stays in his substrate but i will definately watch out for anything like that.

not that i'm aware of.
snakes can fit through far smaller spaces than people might expect, even if they skin themselves in the process.
being a burrowing snake, and staying in the sand instead of climbing the walls, yours probably isn't at that great of a risk, but still.

It is quite worrying, ive made a threon RFUK asking if anybody has had any similar experiences, but i will monitor things for the moment i opted for a faunarium as the owner of my LRS reccomended them and my smallest Rub has some holes that would be too big drilled in.

Bruce, you've got to stop buying all these animals, you're making me jealous!

Looks great, hope you enjoy keeping it :)

On a side note, I remember you having trouble buying livefood a while back. If you want, when the weather warms, I can send you a few Dubia roaches to get a colony started. I have a collection of reps a bit bigger than yours, but they're such a great help towards the food bill!

Best,
Paul
