New kids on the block

We as you may know my big male p14 died a few days ago

He was a top male and fathered lots of stunning pups but he did have a dark side and wouldn't allow any other male in the tank with him as I did try many times

This was my chance to grow two males up with each other and see if I have better luck

They look tiny but are 10" disk

I picked this male p14 up last week



And this male up on Thursday





Sorry for the bad pics but I'm keeping my lights low for a few days to let them settle in a bit more

As good as your female bd if not better if you ask me

The male is a low grade bd in my eyes
He has belly spotting and light colour eye ALL the traits you would expect from a bd

Its that grading thing all over again

Leo
Leo/bd
Bd

At which point does a Leo become a Leo/bd or a Leo/bd become a bd

Just because this male doesn't have loads of spots around the outer edge you call it a Leo/bd how many spots must it have before its a bd is it a standard you set or who else has that power

With ALL litters of pups you get some pups that are better than others just look at your female that prob wasn't the best looking in the litter so is that classed as a Leo/bd

If this male has ALL the traits of a bd but was half the price who am I to ague with the standards people wish to set

I have never been out for the look at my F2 BD it means nothing to me

If you want to call it a Leo/bd then go for it

But please tell me what you look for in a bd

Belly spotting check he has it
Light coloured eyes check he has them
Very white spots check he has them
Dark black base colour check he has it

If the only reason you say this is a Leo/bd is the amount of spots around the edge he has please tell me the exact amount a bd should have then I will count them up next time I look to buy a ray
