What's not to understand? The fish killergx posted appears to me to have orange eyes, which says to me that it's a kamfa. It's my understanding that kamfa can have red, orange, yellow, or white eyes, whereas ZZ's will always have red eyes. I honestly don't know why you're arguing about this.

The moral of the situation seems to be that sellers will use the "King Kamfa" name to sell fish, even if they're not King Kamfa. So be careful. It's a very, very nice fish, never the less.

lol i realize this nick.
the reason why i ask is because red eyes would not make it anyless of a kamfa. i know its not a king kamfa, it probably belonged to a batch of king kamfa in it, but its more zz dominant .

I heard that king kamfa's with white eye's infertile? And the one's with red or orange eye's are fertile is this correct?

1. There shouldn't be enough ZZ blood in a KK to ever make a KK fry that has dominant ZZ traits, so that theory doesn't really hold water. A KK x ZZ is called a Tan King anyway, different strain.

2. I never said anything about Kamfas not being able to have red eyes, that's just silly. I don't know why you're arguing this when you're telling me something I already believe.

Let me clarify some more. I said the original fish posted had orange eyes, which tells me it's a kamfa. At a glance, some of the pictures of killergx's "KK" make the fish look like a ZZmalau, BUT I can see that it has ORANGE EYES, which only Kamfa should have, plus it looks to have Kamfa finnage. So though it may look a bit like a ZZmalau (in my opinion), the orange eyes and finnage tell me that it is indeed a Kamfa.

what is normally said is that males with white eyes are mostly sterile, males with orange eyes maybe 50% sterile, males with red eyes= mostly fertile. females almost always fertile. correct me if i am wrong, but that is what i read on a flowerhorn site.

Sounds about right. Red = better chance than white for sure in my own experience at least, orange I cant speak for.

i dont understand what you mean about the atleast they dont look red, red eyes means nothing

Its a common trait of kamfa to have the white eyes, orange eyes & also orange red eyes with black markings.

Its rare for a kamfa to have full red eyes, so when someone who isnt familair with kamfas and their various eye colors see this, they will assume right away its not a kamfa.

The red eyes is more common than we thinkm they just dont get sent to us becuz they get saved.
