I always thought that female parrots had the notch and males don't.
I have only been able to get eggs from the notched ones so far.
When I buy 20 parrots and raise them up half end up notched. I always use this method for sexing. I only buy the ones that look nice to me to start with and they usually grow out pretty fast.
The females don't get as big as the males usually either.
