I just traded in my Compressicepts cichlid today for a 12" Clown knife. Hes very cool looking and was in perfect condition.

Now I see he has some marks already on him. Non of the fish have touched him but he is in with some drift wood. How can I stop him from hurting himself? Ive seen people keep them with drift wood before...do they just get a little scratched up and thats how it is or what?

also I just noticed he has some little white thing under his eye.

Ugg the LFS I got it from is the best in madison and I thought I gave it a good look over.

Any guesses? I can try to take a pic

here are some pics

I know they are big but im trying to make the white thing as visible as possible with this crappy camera

Any help would be appreciated

Maybe just getting used to the tank. I don't have alot of experience with clown knifes but it is my understanding they don't see very well.

Nice marking on the CK. I'm not sure what's wrong with it's eyes, but just bump the temp up a bit and add some salt.

thanks

any other ideas?

anyone?

anyone know what the spot could be?

I have a 15in royal clown knife fish and he has the same thing under his eye. I'm not sure what it is either but the pet store said not to worry. I noticed it about a month ago and he is not showing any signs of being stressed out sick. I would say dont worry about it. If I read anything else about it, I will be sure to let you know!

If find it odd that its just there and not a problem but thanks and I would very much appreciate an update if you get one.
