Check out my homemade venturi...2"water pipe, 1"standpipe, 1/2" air pipe inside with yellow sponge to muffle the air suction noise. This pond runs really quite. Waterfall is normally off because of the stuffy people who lives in this high end neighborhood.

Look like what? Clear? Key to clear water is the biological and UV. Mine is a plastic molded pond and the water is just as clear. The painted bottom will all be covered with green algae so the look will be different as it matures. I will post pics in a few months for comparison. Check out my past thread on zen pond built with liner.
