Hello everyone. I had an L128 a few months ago and lost it after a couple weeks, I just got another one and am looking for advice.

He's going in my 90 gallon, planted/wooded tank. Temperature at 77°, Ph=7.1, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, ammonia 0. Substrate is pool filter sand.

What cab I do to be more successful with this one than the last? Anything you guys have to offer can help! Thanks!

How are your nitrates nonexistent? My L128 has good current in the tank and gets a good choice of food over the week. I keep my water a little warmer as well. Do you drip your fish?

Sorry, did not mean to hit submit already. My nitrates stay very close to 0 because I keep duckweed in my filtration. How would platinum angels and discus do with a fast current?

They wouldn't as far as I know. I'm pretty sure the L128 requires current. I would suggest not trying another one, especially with discus.

Too late. I've already got him. Deal I couldn't turn down! He's dripping right now. I think I'll put a power head down along the bottom, and situate wood so that the rest of the tank isn't too affected.

That's the best way I could think of doing considering the circumstances. I'd keep a close eye on your discus though...That'd be an expensive loss. I watch my L052 very closely now that I have my first discus in with it.

I'll keep a real close eye on everything. I just got the power head going, the top 2/3 of the tank seems unaffected. So far so good.

And in regards to the discus going after the blue phantom, this tank has SO many places to hide it's ridiculous. I have ottocinclus and other small fish in here too. Never had a problem. I'll put some pictures on this thread later and you'll see what I mean.

I'm not worried about the L128...I'm worried about it acquiring the taste of discus slime coat.
